Educational goals

All projects to be: "by the people for the people"

  • To prepare 10 local people per year for work in tourism
  • Capacity building for local entrepreneurs
  • To provide hotel management training
  • To start and operate a chain of nursery schools
  • To sponsor more secondary school students
  • To integrate the Eco College within the Mozambican national system
  • Sustainable Development initiatives, e.g. helping local salt producers
  • Tree-planting
  • We initiated a training restaurant "Sunset Boulevard" (a beachside guest house) in Mossuril Vila.
  • HIV-awareness classes and adult literacy classes
  • We fight malaria

  • To initiate internet cafes in selected villages
  • Women's project: sewing workshops and co-operative
  • To introduce community water sports e.g. wind and kite surfing, diving etc

  • To initiate The Green Project to help curb random burning of woodland
  • With The White Ribbon Alliance, to lower infant and maternity mortality rates
  • In 2005, with support from Rabobank Foundation, we started an experimental farm
  • We provide full time, enjoyable employment to 72 local men and women
  • In January 2008, we paid to bring electricity to Cabaceira Grande
  • In 2008, with Stichting de Boomgaarden, we restored and equipped Bom Futuro Primary School in Cabaceira Grande
  • We help local entrepreneurs to start or expand their own business
  • We have given out 460 Micro-credits to local villagers
  • A medicinal plant plantation and study center
  • In 2008, jointly with DOEN Foundation we started a community center project
